Communicating with Students

The vcu.edu email address is the official email address for VCU. You and your students should use this email when communicating with each other. 

On Pronouns: It is essential that you use the appropriate pronouns when communicating with and about students. Using the correct pronouns lets students know that we value who they are. See the following website for more information: Pronouns: What and Why.

At a Glance: When Should I Contact the B.S.W. Program Director or Assistant Director?
  • A student requests an incomplete
  • A student has an emergency and requests an extension that is greater than 48 hours
  • You have concerns that a student may have violated the VCU Honor Code or Code of Conduct and you want to discuss the process
  • You need assistance elevating a student issue/situation
